Top lug for 1" step-through frames. Works with a 31.8mm headtube and 25.4mm top tube, 105.2°. Steel.

This lug angles the top tube so that it intersects the seat tube at approximately the halfway point.

Step-through bicycle frames give you a similar low standover height to mixte frames but with improved frame stiffness.

FAQs:

"I just remembered something! Can you add it to my order?"

We don't have access to your payment info, so we can't add items to your order.

If you realize that you forgot an item after placing an order, just place another order for the missing item(s) and shoot us an email at hello@framebuildersupply.com to call our attention to it. As a rule, when we encounter multiple orders to the same customer, we will combine the orders and refund you any excess shipping from the additional orders. Please do not select free "local pickup" for the second order, otherwise we may need to invoice you for any additional shipping costs and that just slows things down.

"I got a USPS delivery notification but my order hasn't shown up!"

It isn't uncommon to receive USPS delivery notifications before a package is actually delivered. We're not sure if they sometimes scan the package at the post office before delivery, but typically the package shows up within 24 hours. Please let us know if the package hasn't shown up by the typical USPS delivery time the next day and we'll get it all sorted out.

If an item is damaged or has been sent in error, we will pay for return shipping and replace the item if it is returned within 30 days purchase.

If you ordered the wrong item or changed your mind, you may return the item provided that it is in new condition and within 30 days of purchase. You will be refunded the purchase price minus a 10% restocking fee. The restocking fee does not apply to exchanges.

Please understand that we are not responsible for insuring compatibility of parts in an order. Builders frequently order items for different bikes and there is no way for us to know which parts are intended to go with which parts.

We carry lugs that fall into three of the four most commonly built types. These are all road oriented lugs, but hey, there aren't any lug police out there, so do what you want. Two of these types work with 1" steerer tubes and two work with 1-1/8" steerers. The terms: standard, oversize (OS), and double oversize refer to the tubing diameter that the lugs will accept. The larger the diameter the tube, the stiffer the tube, and the stiffer the tube, the stiffer the frame. In general if you're building for a cyclist of average build, you can safely go with 1" standard or OS. If the rider is taller and/or heavier, you might want to go with the 1" oversize, or 1-1/8" oversize. If the bike will be used for touring, oversize tubes might be a wise choice. 1-1/8" double oversize lugs go with even bigger tubes. We don't currently carry double oversize lugs.

In these illustrations the main triangle tubes are light blue and the lugs are darker blue. Each lug joins at least 2 tubes, with the BB shell accommodating 4 tubes: a downtube, seat tube, and 2 chainstays. The chainstay size further complicates matters with the BB shell accepting 22.2mm round chainstays or a variety of oval chainstays. Obviously you'll want to make sure that your chainstay diameter and shape matches with the chainstay socket portion of your BB shell.
